Women of Wine

The response to this case has been incredible but we shouldn't need the excuse of International Women's Day to celebrate women, so we will have this case on indefinitely. We'll change the wines but always represent women making great wine. £5 from each case will be donated to charity and each month we will give to a new organisation that supports women - suggestions welcome!

This month we are donating to Women's Aid who do great work in supporting and campaigning for survivors of domestic violence.

In a traditionally male-dominated industry, we want to celebrate and highlight women who are making great wine. With these four wines, we are representing some of our favourite females making waves in the industry. However, these are great wines in and of themselves which just happen to be made by women.

'3B' Brut Nature, Filipa Pato

£20.00 > £18.00

Crisp, elegant, and refreshing - A perfect example of the incredible traditional method wines being made outside of France, a Portuguese take on Champagne, if you will. This is made from a blend of three local grape varieties Maria Gomes, Bical and Arinto. Filipa Pato crafts wines that are unique, and reflect the special character of her vineyards.

Macon-Villages 'Le Clos', Sophie Cinier

£22.00 > £19.80

Sophie Cinier makes this wine from a tiny 0.4 Hectare single vineyard with astounding attention to detail. The result is a beautiful chardonnay, unoaked and focussed on pristine fruit - think citrus, green apple, and minerals. A lovely white Burgundy.

Trigone Rouge, Le Soula

£22.00 > £19.80

Wendy Wilson makes this wine in the stunning vineyards of La Soula, situated between the Languedoc and Catalonia. It's a blend of Syrah and Carignan, and interestingly, is also a blend of three vintages - 2017, 2018 & 2019. What we love about this wine is the balance. There's ripe fruit that places it firmly in the Languedoc, but that's balanced perfectly with supple tannin, a silky texture and delicate freshness.

Negoska Carbonic, Chatzivaritis Estate

£26.00 > £23.40

This is such a joyous wine! Full of fruit, with some earth and smokiness too. Made from Negoska, which can often be a bit of a monster grape variety, winemaker Chloe picks early and uses carbonic maceration, the method so famous for producing Beaujolais, to make a young, fruity, and characterful wine full of life and energy.

Freya

Fantastic service. Literally 24hrs. Can’t rate highly enough.

Mr Goldsmith

Great service. Niche wines, what you hope to, but rarely get from a lot of independent merchants. Ordered around 2pm and the wines were with me before 6pm same day. That's some service
