Let’s face it - wine can seem pretentious, but we want to change that.
We want to create a relaxed, fun environment for people to enjoy great wine and delicious food, whilst receiving some of South East London’s finest hospitality.
We regularly update our collection with new and exciting wines for you to try. We love drinking wine, so we taste as much as we can, as often as we can (it’s a hard life!).
We have over 150 wines available, selected for their delicious flavour first and foremost. However, we also prioritize small scale producers who care about the soil and the environment. We strongly believe the care taken in winemaking contributes to the final result.
Ben is our number one wine guy at Peckham Cellars with 10 years’ experience in the wine trade.
He's not only spent the last 10 years enjoying many glasses of the good stuff,
but also devoted himself to learning more about the wine industry by
completing his WSET level 4 diploma.
Ben's spent time at Plumpton wine college in Sussex, where there is a
functioning vineyard and winery, learning all about the practicalities of making
wine from growing grapes to fermentation.
Random fact about Ben: he likes sailing, the wind forecast, nautical maps,
house music, country pubs and walks.
Helen's worked in hospitality for the last 10 years, she also trained to be a
chef at Leiths School of food and wine.
Helen's nickname is Melon as in Helen the melon. She's the Creative Director
and responsible for managing the food side of things and venue design.
Her favourite wine is Ochota barrels - she likes juicy light red wines!
Random fact about about Helen: she loves cooking, entertaining and throwing
epic house parties and is a massive lover of funk and soul music.
Luke got into the wine industry in 2015 and is our house master
He's got a love for the weird and wonderful and the same goes for wines too.
His favourite types of wines are: high acidity, vibrant wines that have
character to them. He loves Gamay, Pinot Noir, Riesling, Chenin blanc.
Random fact about Luke: his favourite producers at the moment (they change
all the time) Jean Foillard, Domaine Mosse, Stoppini, Vino di Anna, Pierre
Frick and Complementerre.
Henry was born in South East London and bred our Head Chef Henry joined the team in July 2020.
He comes from a strong culinary background having started working in kitchens aged 15.
Henry has many strings to his bow including being a member of eight piece reggae band who were crowned a world reggae champion in 2016 and have recorded in the same studio as Bob Marley.
Randoms fact about Henry: he is a huge Boston Celtics fan, has wide ranging and eclectic taste in music ranging from Nora Jones to Vybz Kartel, has a pineapple obsession and plays numerous sports including rugby and cricket.
