Women of Wine

In a traditionally male dominated industry we wanted to celebrate and highlight women who are making great wine. With International Women’s Day coming up on the 8th March we thought this was the perfect time to recognise the achievements of some of our favourite female’s making waves in the industry.

With good reason all four of these wines have occupied a place on our list (and in our hearts!) for a long time. These are great wines in and of themselves which just happen to be made by women.

'3B' Brut Nature, Filipa Pato

£20.00 > £18.00

Crisp, elegant and refreshing - A perfect example of the incredible traditional method wines being made outside of France, a Portuguese take on Champagne, if you will. This is made from a blend of three local grape varieties Maria Gomes, Bical and Arinto. Filipa Pato crafts wines that are unique, and reflect the special character of her vineyards.

Garnaxta Blanca, Herencia Altes

£12.00 > £10.80

Incredible freshness and zesty, citrusy charm, with a little texture and weight too. This is a great alternative to Picpoul. Nuria Altes leads this progressive estate, where respect for nature and top-quality winemaking go hand-in-hand.

L'O de Joncier, Marine Roussel

£17.00 > £15.30

Now here we have something really rather special that we're pretty enamoured with right-now at Cellars. It's a style of wine we love - it's Medium bodied and will hold it's own against some food, but very juicy and gluggable enough to just enjoy on its own in the garden or in front of the telly.

Marine Roussel has crafted this wine in such a beautiful fashion. The aromas soar out of the glass with soft red fruit and dried red flowers. Then the texture once imbibed is sumptuous and juicy. Bravo!

A blend of Grenache and Syrah. Certified organic and biodynamic.

Negoska Carbonic, Chatzivaritis Estate

£26.00 > £23.40

This is such a joyous wine! Full of fruit, with some earth and smokiness too. Made from Negoska, which can often be a bit of a monster grape variety, Chloe Chatzivaritis picks early and uses carbonic maceration, the method so famous for producing Beaujolais, to make a young, fruity, and characterful wine full of life and energy.

At Peckham Cellars we try to do our bit for the environment so for every delivery we make we plant a tree to help offset its impact

Freya

Fantastic service. Literally 24hrs. Can’t rate highly enough.

Mr Goldsmith

Great service. Niche wines, what you hope to, but rarely get from a lot of independent merchants. Ordered around 2pm and the wines were with me before 6pm same day. That's some service
